As we’ve written in several of our previous blogs, landscape architecture is very important to the proper design and installation of your pool. This is why working with a pool builder that takes landscape architecture into consideration can help you realize your pool dreams that might not have been possible with another builder. Let’s talk about a few examples of how this works.
Fitting Your Pool in Your Backyard
Potential Problems
There are two factors that can arise when surveying your property in anticipation of construction that could prevent the process from moving forward. These are the building restriction line and the septic tank and fields and the septic reserve area.
The building restriction line is a line on your property plat that sets a boundary beyond which you cannot construct on your property. This line, also known as the BRL, is different than your property line, which may be found farther out. Not all properties have a plat, and thus not all have a building restriction line, but if your property is subdivided, then it does have a plat, and a BRL as well.
Septic tanks and septic tank reserve areas also can create issues for pool construction. Obviously no construction can be done where the septic tank is currently located, but the reserve area can also inhibit construction. The septic tank reserve area is a part of your property that is portioned off for the construction of a new septic tank in the event that your current tank fails. Solutions
With our experience in landscape architecture, Rhine Pools is able to overcome these potential obstacles to pool construction in many cases. Our architects can work to have lines redraw so a pool can be constructed. We work with your local jurisdiction to move building restriction lines and septic tank reserve areas to create a space where a new pool can go. Don’t let another pool builder tell you there’s nothing that can be done. Rhine Pools knows how to work your property to accommodate the pool you’ve always wanted.
